Located in Walhalla, Stumphouse Passage is a 1.5-mile section for easy hiking but there are approximately 20 more miles of state-of-the-art mountain biking trails in the park. Other than electric bikes and pedal assist bikes, motorized vehicles are not allowed in the park. Be aware that users are asked not to ride when the trail is wet, to avoid damaging the natural surface. In addition, be mindful of the directional signs that designate which trails are in use for hikers and riders based on days of the month. The facility is overseen by a full-time park ranger and maintained by the Walhalla Police Department and is the result of a collaborative effort among the Palmetto Trail, the City of Walhalla, Oconee County, Visit Oconee SC, Oconee Economic Alliance, Reveal SC, Oconee Chamber of Commerce, and the SC Trails Program.
Fees are $5 per vehicle, $25 Annual Pass for Oconee County Residents, $35 Annual Pass for Non-Oconee County Residents, and FREE for City of Walhalla Residents with presentation of water bill. Passes can be purchased at Walhalla City Hall.
For questions about parking fees please contact Walhalla City Hall at (864) 638-4343.
