Join The Palmetto Trail for a guided bird walk along the Boyd Passage on Monday, November 16th from 9 am – 11 am! Whether you are new to birding or an experienced birder, this outing is a great opportunity to learn more about South Carolina’s birds while exploring the trail and surrounding habitat.
The event will begin at the Boyd Trailhead Amphitheater with an educational introduction covering the basics of bird watching, including tips for identifying birds by sight and sound, what to look for while on the trail, and what participants can expect to encounter in the local habitat.
Following the presentation, participants will set out on an approximately 2-mile hike along the Boyd Passage. The hike will be easy to moderately difficult, with plenty of opportunities to stop, listen, and search the surrounding habitat for birds. We’ll keep an eye out for newly arrived winter species as well as the resident birds that call this area home year-round.
No previous birding experience is required, just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring the outdoors!
