Join us on Saturday, August 15, 2026, for National TRACK Trails Day and the official opening of the Broad River – Alston Access Paddle TRACK Trail, the newest addition to the Peak to Prosperity Passage!
Bring a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard and explore the Broad River from the brand-new kayak launch at the Alston Trailhead. A limited number of kayaks will be available to rent, thanks to a generous donation from River Runner Outdoor Center, on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register in advance so we know how many people to expect! Registration does not reserve a kayak, so bringing your own watercraft is recommended.
While you’re here, stop by SCDNR and Congaree Riverkeeper to learn about water safety and ways to help keep our rivers clean. Families can also explore the Peak to Prosperity TRACK Trail, an easy 1-mile out-and-back, visit the new Broad River Conservation Education Preserve, enjoy a picnic at the trailhead, and grab a cold treat from Kona Ice.
Come celebrate this exciting new addition to the Palmetto Trail with a day of paddling, exploring, and connecting with nature!
